Corporate Social Responsibility ( CSR ) is a way of doing business that is becoming more relevant every day. And certifications allow us to reinforce this commitment that is acquired. One of the most important is the SA8000 Standard, the main social and voluntary certification standard for factories and organizations around the world.

1. Policies, procedures and records
To begin this part of the certification, the company was in charge of reviewing 50 policies, of which 20 applied to the standard. In addition, they generated 17 new policies and created a manual in which they established:
Requirements.
Responsible.
Scopes.
Steps to comply.

In addition to this, they included CSR policies. To carry out this task, participation and leadership at all levels, from plant managers to the vice presidency, was essential, since the objective was to fully understand everything.
2. Social performance team
The social performance team “is the heart of the standard,” says Morales, because it is made up of company employees. At this point, according to the number of collaborators, the social performance team is formed so that there is equitable representation between operational and administrative personnel.
